mKontakt responds to reports and limits abuse, but no platform can guarantee the authenticity of each person. Don't send money, protect your data and respond to warning signs.
Never send money
A scammer can take days to build trust. A request for a transfer, payment code, cryptocurrency, ticket, treatment or "urgent help" is a strong warning signal.
Protect your data
Don't give out your password, login codes, document number, full address, bank details or sensitive material to someone you meet online.
Check your profile for consistency
Beware of stolen or generated photos, inconsistent information, avoidance of video calls, pressure to transfer contact quickly, and rush-inducing stories.
First meeting in public
Choose a busy place, tell someone you trust, make your own return, and don't leave your drink unattended. When you feel threatened, leave.
How reporting a fake profile works
- The logged-in user selects the "Report a violation" option in the profile, selects a category and enters a specific justification.
- The report is sent to a protected register and internal administration box. One account can report a given profile only once.
- Active accounts that have existed for at least 7 days count towards the automatic threshold. There is also a daily registration limit.
- After 10 independent, qualified reports, the profile is temporarily hidden and goes to the "suspended by users" section.
- The administrator checks the evidence and restores the profile or confirms the block. The number of reports in itself is not proof of guilt.
False, retaliatory or coordinated reports violate the rules. A suspended person may request that the decision be reconsidered Contact.
Stop contact and contact your local emergency number or appropriate services. Reporting on the website does not replace reporting to the police. Save your messages, profile address, dates and payment confirmations.
